Referral to the special outpatient clinic for myasthenia gravis

In the special outpatient clinic for myasthenia gravis, we prefer to treat patients with incomplete or no disease control of the disease activity, including therapy-refractory courses.

We ensure the clinical-quantitative assessment of disease progression, disease severity and disease activity with the help of the medical examination and the patient's self-assessment. Together with the antibody status, these form the basis for the treatment indications we provide.

We suggest guideline-compliant treatment approaches, taking into account new treatment options, e.g., complement inhibitors, FcRn modulators, or bortezomib. If this is desired, we will also be happy to implement the planned treatments in our clinic in consultation with you. In individual cases, we will offer your patients the option of cell therapy. We make the indication on an interdisciplinary basis with colleagues from the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy at the University Hospital.

In the case of treatment-refractory and crisis-like courses, we will initiate inpatient admission to our clinic in consultation with you.

We kindly ask you to bring::

  • previous medical reports including information on antibody status,
  • a current medication plan,
  • current/last laboratory results (if available).

We will return all the documents you have brought with you to your patient at the end of the examination.
